Sri Lanka's FitsAir plans to resume Chennai–Colombo flights from November 24, to improve connectivity
Sri Lankan airline FitsAir is planning to resume its Chennai–Colombo flight service from November 24, with three flights a week, restoring another travel option between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.

The proposed resumption will reconnect Chennai with Colombo through the airline’s scheduled services after FitsAir’s earlier operations on the route ended in March 2026. The development could offer additional choice to passengers travelling between the two destinations for business, tourism, family visits and other purposes.
The Chennai–Colombo sector is an important short-haul international route, connecting southern India with Sri Lanka. The flight journey typically takes around one hour and 20 minutes, making air travel a convenient option for passengers travelling across the Palk Strait.
The planned three-times-weekly service could provide more flexibility for travellers, including tourists visiting Sri Lanka and passengers travelling for commercial or personal commitments. It may also add capacity and competition on a route already served by other airlines.
The exact operating days, departure and arrival timings, flight numbers and booking details are yet to be confirmed in the information available. Passengers are advised to check FitsAir’s official booking channels before making travel plans.
